Local Artist Highlight

So I have not really done this in the past, and I dont know why. A fellow named Paul Agee messaged me and asked me to check out some of his tracks, and I thought they were interesting enough to share with the rest of you. First, I have not heard anyone else doing anything like this in Oklahoma, which I like. The tracks are heavily beat laden, some parts almost reminded me of hip-hop, or some older DJ Shadow tracks. I think the first track relys to heavily on a vocodor vocals scheme for the lyrics, when in fact the beat and theme could go amazingly well with raping, and if done right could be different than anything out there at all. Check these tracks out, and pay respect to a local doing something unique.

I like Hip-Hop and....other strange shit.
Pretty much incredible.
Anyway, apparently Lil Wayne is coming out with a Rock and Roll album this year. April 7th to be exact and it's called rebirth.
If you're curious, here is a download.
Lil Wayne- Prom Queen
While we are on the subject, Lil Wayne and Sean Kingston have a new track called "I'm at War." It's actually pretty good. Here is a link if you want to download it.

It is Snowing in the south

Ok so I just found out about this guy Miike Snow and from what I gather he (or they) likes to be very secretive, i must however give mad props to the myspace page design . . . brilliant! My friend Heather says she used to trade records with a DJ named Miike Snow in Houston and she is following up on that lead but the originals of these two tracks sound more like a band but you never know. What do you think?

"Soy Un Vaquero"
Ok, So I typically won't post twice in one week but I am really excited about this! What I have for you is my second full length mix "Soy Un Vaquero" (I'm a Cowboy). I recorded this mix at a show I did in this small college town in Mexico in the Fall of '07, so don't expect any new bangers on this one but I think you will dig it! Anyway I never got around to doing the final mix down and compression of this mix until yesterday. This mix is my sophomore full length release. you can get my first mix "I'm From Oklahoma" HERE. (keep in mind this was never mastered or compressed)My philosophy for making these mixes is to tastefully cram as many songs on to a CD as possibly so both mixes kiss the 80 minute mark with a new track about every two and a half minutes. If you want the track list you can CONTACT ME.
it is my pleasure to present to you:
Remember: I can't truly love you unless you comment below ;)

"My Heart Don't Got Nothin' To do With My Penis!"
shameless plug:
My name is DILLON, some of you may know me as DILATION. I live in Tulsa and I DJ. I spin electro thursdays at either EXIT 6C or the COLLECTIVE (check the calendar). Granger and I will be at the collective next Thursday the 22nd!!!! I also spin Saturdays w/ SlLIM VILLAIN at OSCARS GASTROPUB. I do a 45 minute hip hop set that starts at 10:30 and a 45 minute B-More set that starts at 12. Slim Villain spins house and electro. I hope to see you there!
A few words on my post stylings:
I LOVE HYPERLINKS! Most of them are worth your while to click. Most of my audio/video posts come in pairs (see below for example).
I also produce:
I currently have two production projects that I am working on, a band and an electro duo with producer FONT, both of which are currently nameless but i promise to debut here. For now here are two of my Favorite "Dilated Smashes," one for the ladies and one for the men who love them!
Hey Ladies!: SEVENTEEN TIMES is an older, lets say classic, that smashes RATATAT's seventeen years and CYNDI LAUPER's Time after Time.
For the Dudes: ROUSTA ONE Features BASSNECTAR's circus influenced banger "Roustabout" dilated and smashed against the smooth soul of JOHN LEGEND with a cameo from everybody's favorite LOUIS VUITTON DON. ( WARNING: This track requires a soundsystem that can handle ultra low frequencies)
Please post any and all opinions below.
This song is tighter than 5o pounds of shit in a 25 pound bag.
Get it!

ARNOCORPS INVENTS NEW GENRE, ARNO-CORE
There’s a band out there called ArnoCorps who dress up like Schwarzenegger and whose songs are all about Schwarzenegger movies. I think you’ll agree, few subjects have ever been so worthy of song.

2009 astrology.....Sweet
Year 2009 Overview
As a Gemini, you possess an amazing ability to see dualities -- the pros and cons of situations as change approaches -- and to quickly and efficiently think them through before making any decisions. In 2009, you dare to look deeply into your desires, regenerate self-awareness and recognize psychological ambiguities. This will bring balance into your home and family life. Pay attention to the details as you bring your inner and outer life into harmony. And be sure to enjoy the changes occurring within you!
As you come to terms with yourself, you are able to see a more fulfilling purpose in life, and your field of experience broadens. Focus on matters that affect you most deeply and, like magic, your life will become easier and things will seem to take care of themselves. You have all the necessary resources and motivation to make tangible changes and achieve results this year.
Toward the end of the year, you'll have time to enjoy yourself, and to bask in a great sense of accomplishment. With the expansive and idealistic energy flowing throughout 2009, Gemini is very comfortable in this age of new awareness and high-mindedness.

New Years Resolution #1

So today marks that first day starting my 12 New Years Resolutions. The way this works is that every month for 12 months I will be working on a new resolution. Something that can either add to my life or something that needs to be eliminated. It has been said it really takes about 30days straight of doing or not doing something to create or break a habit. So at the first of the month I will post up what the resolution is and at the end will talk about how it worked out.
Month 1 - Wake up every weekday at 9:00am
There are several reasons why I have chosen this as the first months experience.
-First Off I'm horrible at getting out of bed, especially in the winter, I will lay in bed for at least most of the regular day 1-2pm if I can.
-Studies show that the most productive time of the day the couple of hours right after you wake up. And by waking up at 9am I will have time to tackle things without just having to rush off to class or work right when I wake up. Allowing me to getting things done that I need to get done.
-This one also correlates to next months resolution as well, they go togther but this one needs to happen first in order to do the next one.
