The picture above was taken Friday at the the IHEARTCOMIX after party. . . which was the end of an amazing day filled with minglings, meetings, and Brazilian BBQ! I also changed into my MA DUKES shirt which led me to meet Tom Bacon, an amazing person who happens to be very close to Dukes and has had a big hand in the T-shirt campaign to raise money for her. Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, the mother of the late James “J Dilla” Yancey, is currently battling the same disease that took her son’s life. Dough from this tee goes to Ma Dukes. Tom ended up inviting me and my posse to come to the Texas Night Club party that he was sponsoring. We ended up having a blast! Thanks Tom!Anyway, The following two artist really stick out in my memory for putting on awesome performances, both just so happen to be beautiful young and talented nubian queens with caramel skin and puffy afros!
. . A good friend of my boy Johnny Polygon and a commentator on VH1. She is an amazingly cleaver little ball of energy with a smooth and jazzy voice and a backing band to match. Although I saw her perform a short set indoor at the Day Stage, every song had me bobbin' my head and filled the whole room with positive vibes. you can D/L her EP by clicking the link below

All I know about this girl is that she was featured at both of the after parties, she is from sweden, cute as a button, has nasty lyrics and beats that make me want to shake my ass! after seeing her perform I actually bought her EP on itunes which I rarely do.
